“ A Great Manager…brings hope to the world when he/she offers a workplace atmosphere where people want to come to use their talent and share their expertise for a specific purpose.” Patrick J. Montana – Course Director, PhD
Golf Management By US Golf Managers Association
We provide for the training and certification of golf club professionals, golf course managers and golf resort managers. These five day certification courses are held frequently throughout the year at Club Med Resort in Port. St. Lucie, Florida. They are unique in that they are taught by real–life golf managers who specialize in teaching all the various topics pertinent to golf management. This common sense approach to learning is popular because so many of our participants already have a wealth of experience in other areas of life and business and don’t require two-year college courses or apprenticeship programs that last for years.

The Golf Management Industry
Golf management is a huge industry. There are over 35 thousand golf courses worldwide that all require competent, certified golf managers. Furthermore the subject of golf management is not restricted to golf courses alone. Popular national and international golf resorts where people stay and vacation are all staffed by well trained individuals in the golf management sector of the industry.
Just as important in their own right is the certified golf teaching professional. As true ambassadors of the game, their golf management and people skills are essential to the growth of golf. They have the unique opportunity to mend a fragile ego, or enhance a family vacation. In fact, many golf teaching professionals eventually enter into golf management as a natural evolution through their performance, effort and maturity.
Professional golf management is also the key to the thousands of golf retail stores throughout the world. Marketing skills, knowledge of product and display techniques, properly discounting and timely sales, certain computer skills as well as the age old art of selling are required.
Further included in the golf management industry are golf driving ranges, golf manufacturers and their representatives, the many golf trade shows, and the very lucrative golf travel industry. With regard to all of these segments of the 65 billion dollar golf industry, employers are more inclined to hire personable, individuals with a professional golf management certification.

Testimonials For US Golf Managers Association
As I sit here this morning digesting the entire week, I would like to express my appreciation for all the hard work, dedication and hospitality that each of you shared with me and my classmates in achieving our degrees in Golf Course Management.
To be a part of this organization and to have each of you as mentors is truly a dream come true. I cannot express how great all of you made me feel in excelling in the golf industry and sharing with me your personal and current work situations.
Again, I thank you and hope to be seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Helen Gawlik
Being from an athletic background, I was somewhat apprehensive about being in a classroom for 4 ½ days. That apprehension however was short-lived. Each teacher delivered their “specialized” golf management talk with passion and had no qualms about sharing their experiences and knowledge with all of us.
I found myself sitting up straight and taking notes on everything they were saying. This was a great course and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about becoming a golf club manager.

I learned more in 5 days about golf management than I did in two years of specific courses on the same subject at college. The insights gained by learning from people who actually work in the golf management industry can be found no where else. My time spent at the course has been invaluable.

I traveled from Argentina to receive my certificate in golf management. We are building two golf courses in Buenos Aires and I wanted to have a basic knowledge on the subject. The course was more than I expected and I have kept in touch with several of the participants and the teachers.
Thank you for everything,
